The Ringed Assassin Bug is a member of the True Bugs (Hemiptera). It is a small critter that is exclusively carnivorous. It has a short but strong proboscis (a straw-like structure) for a mouth. It uses this proboscis to stab other insects and small invertebrates and then drink of their insides. It is a very effective killing machine in this way, but it poses no danger to humans. In fact, they are often considered a desirable insect because they are a natural and effective form of pest control in a garden.
