Mourning Dove

The Mourning Dove is a bird common to much of North America. It can be found as far north as Canada and as far south as Panama. It is partially migratory, but through most of its range it can be found year-round. The name comes from its haunting call which is often mistaken for an owl. This mournful sound can be heard echoing across both urban and rural landscapes.
