The Glyphosate Problem

In recent years, there has been a lot of press about the chemical glyphosate.  Specifically, there have been some high-profile court cases where companies manufacturing and using the chemical have had to pay out large sums of cash to workers who were later diagnosed with lymphoma.  This has resulted in a lot of people questioning the safety of the chemical and even calls to legally ban its use (which has gone through in some places).

Vampire Castes

Prior to the Neolithic Revolution, small packs of vampires would stalk the larger tribes of nomadic humans, preying on them at night. When humans began settling into permanent villages and cities, most vampires continued their stalking habits, just with more permanent lairs hidden in the outskirts of smaller settlements or the depths of larger ones. However, one vampire was more enterprising than that.

Sentient Warships

They are incredibly rare. Research has shown they might actually be related to dryads (which are kind of biological themselves). What is known is that if enough magic, intent, and emotion is pushed through an inanimate object, that object begins to animate to some extent. Usually, this is at a small enough scale that the resulting object can’t be described as fully sentient and they certainly don’t function as a species. More like a more advanced enchantment.

A Tale of Two Capitalisms

Capitalism is a loaded word.  For good or bad, it exists at the core of modern economic theory and any discussion about economic policy cannot avoid it.  Opinions on capitalism range from it being the greatest economic system ever developed to it being the greatest evil faced in our times.  The problem is, the more I have looked at the issue the less sure I am that everyone means the same thing when they say “Capitalism”.
